MJ Conroy was established in 1932 in Cong. Co Mayo by Michael Joseph Conroy, laying the foundation for a company rooted in quality craftsmanship and integrity. Initially focusing on local construction projects, the company quickly gained a reputation for excellence in the Irish construction industry.

Expansion and Diversification:
In the 1970s, under the leadership of Michael’s sons – George, Brendan, and Patrick – the company expanded its operations. They carried out main contracting work on various types of construction projects from industrial, pharmaceutical, banking, commercial and restoration works. They also developed strong and enduring working relationships with indigenous Irish and multinational businesses and state bodies such as IDA Ireland.
They ventured into the commercial property sector, acquiring and refurbishing notable properties in Galway, such as Island House at Cathedral Square and Mayoralty House on Flood Street, transforming them into modern office spaces.

The late 1990s marked MJ Conroy’s expansion into Eastern Europe, establishing operations in Latvia, Lithuania, and Serbia. This move diversified the company’s portfolio, incorporating agricultural investments and broadening its construction and property management services on an international scale.
